Advisor - Professor Kai-Lung Hua

Professor Kai-Lung Hua currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology and Chief Technology Officer at Microsoft Taiwan. Professor Hua holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University, USA, and has long focused on research in computer vision, image processing, artificial intelligence, generative AI, and agentic AI. He is dedicated to the design and application of deep learning models, with particular emphasis on computer vision and multimodal perception technologies, driving innovative applications of artificial intelligence in both industry and academia.

Professor Hua has published numerous papers in international journals and conferences and leads multiple industry-academia collaboration projects, continuously advancing the practical deployment and development of artificial intelligence technologies.

Agentic AI & Generative AI

We explore agentic AI with reasoning and action capabilities, combined with the creative potential of generative AI, to build intelligent systems capable of autonomous understanding, decision-making, and content generation. Our research directions include multimodal generation, task-oriented agent design, and reinforcement learning applications in complex environments, propelling artificial intelligence toward higher levels of autonomy and innovation.
